Jason Madachy, May graduate, dies in North Carolina

Jason Madachy, a zoology major who graduated with a bachelor's degree in May, died Saturday, June 9, after a fall from a third-floor deck while vacationing with his family on the Outer Banks in North Carolina.

Despite efforts to save him, the 21-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, a Nags Head police division news release said.

Police believe the incident was accidental and it is not under investigation; they have requested a toxicology report to determine if alcohol was involved.
