Registration is open for Miami's Institute for Learning in Retirement

Are you over 50 and interested in exploring the arts, society, technology, science, literature, history or business? Miami University's Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR) is currently accepting registrations for its nearly 50 noncredit classes.

Titles offered in the spring semester include the following:

  • Exploring the Cincinnati Art Museum
  • The Boomer Generation
  • A Wine Tour of the Southern Hemisphere
  • Twisted Flag: Quilted Wall Hanging
  • The American Revolution
  • Mass Media in American Society
  • Introduction to Fly Fishing
  • How the Stock Market Works and How to Make (or Not Lose) Money.

Most courses are five weeks and meet at convenient times in Oxford, Miami’s Voice of America Learning Center in West Chester, the Mount Pleasant Retirement Village in Monroe and the Hamilton-Fairfield area.

First-time ILR members pay $75 a semester and existing students pay $95. The fee includes as many courses as a student wants to take.
