Wine Tasting Gala and Auction Feb. 2: Annual Performing Arts Series event benefits arts education

The Miami University Performing Arts Series will host its 23rd annual Wine Tasting Gala and Auction to benefit arts education activities 7-10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Millett Hall. Tickets, $59 per person, will be available at the door, although advance reservations are strongly encouraged.

Reserved tables for four, which includes admission, sparkling wine and chocolates, are $316 and available on a limited basis.

Patrons may also reserve tickets for the Premium Pour, which features rare bottles from donors’ private cellars. Pours from the Premium Pour section are an additional $5 each, six for $25 or 15 for $60. A limited number of Riedel wine glasses are available for pre-ordering for $8/stem.

More Than 100 Wines From Around the World

Sponsored by Kona Bistro, this black-tie optional event will feature more than 100 wines from around the world, an expanded beer selection, and a variety of hors d’oeuvres provided by Kona Bistro.
The silent auction includes vacation getaways, event tickets, private dinner parties and many other items.

The cast of Under the Streetlamp (Oct. 2012) met with several of Miami's a cappella choirs, giving career advice prior to a joint rehearsal. The students got to perform that night with Under the Streetlamp.

2012 Wine Tasting Proceeds Funded Educational Programs Attended by More Than 1,000 Students and Community Members

Proceeds from the Wine Tasting are used to fund educational outreach activities such as workshops, master classes and discussions with the visiting professional artists appearing on the Performing Arts Series. These events are provided for Miami students, area K-12 students and community members at no cost to the participants.

During the 2011-2012 season, more than 1,000 students and community members from Miami University, Oxford, Hamilton, Middletown and Cincinnati participated in these free events.
