Nikki Hapner Memorial Scholarship honors colleague and friend

Miami University celebrates the birthday and the memory of a colleague, friend and dedicated Miamian Tuesday, Nov. 13. In honor of Nikki Hapner, who died unexpectedly last March, the Miami family has come together to create a scholarship in her honor.

Hapner, a 2002 Miami graduate who was employed at Miami since 2005, had worked in the division of university advancement since 2007. She had previously served in the bursar office and office of student financial assistance, where her mother, Kathi Buttery, still works.

In honor of Nikki, who is remembered for her dedication, passion for Miami and sense of humor, the Miami family has created a scholarship in her honor. Already, more than 50 colleagues and friends have stepped forward to support the effort.
