Teach-In/Town Hall: "Challenging Rape Cultures"

A series of three "Teach-In/Town Hall" discussions on "Challenging Rape Cultures" will be held at 4 p.m. Oct. 29, Oct. 30, and Nov. 1, in 322 McGuffey Hall to provide an opportunity for members of the Miami community to discuss the impact of the "Top Ten Ways to get Away With Rape" flier recently found in a restroom in McBride Hall.

The event is hosted by the women's, gender and sexuality studies program, the women's center and GLBTQ services.

Invited panelists include Terri Messman-Moore, associate professor of psychology; Susan Mosley-Howard, associate vice president of student affairs and dean of students; and Demere Woolway, assistant director of the office of diversity affairs and coordinator of GLBTQ Services.

The meetings will allow participants to hear from those with relevant expertise, to speak, and to connect with others who advocate for a safe, respectful and inclusive community.

The original flier will not be posted or distributed. Audience members will be given the opportunity to make both spoken and anonymous written comments.
