Former editor to speak of his "Time at The Times"

Bill Keller

Bill Keller, former New York Times executive editor, will present "My Time at The Times" 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, in Taylor Auditorium, 1000 Farmer School of Business at Miami University.

During Keller's eight years at the helm of what is arguably the nation’s most influential news organization, The New York Times newsroom won 18 Pulitzer Prizes while adapting to new competition and constant technological advances.

Keller won a Pulitzer Prize in 1989 for his coverage of the breakup of the Soviet Union and is the author of The Tree Shaker: The Story of Nelson Mandela. He has also reported for the Dallas Times Herald, Congressional Quarterly Weekly Report and the Portland Oregonian.

In addition to lecturing, Keller will personally meet with Miami journalism students and faculty during his visit.

“My Time at The Times: A Conversation with Bill Keller” is free and open to the public.

The event is sponsored by the Diana Stark Journalism Fund and The New York Times Collegiate Readership Program, with support from the journalism program, the Miami chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and the office of the president.
