This year, Miami University welcomes parents, siblings and friends with new centers hosted by students for Family Weekend, Oct. 26-28. Activities range from dinners and entertainment to departmental information sessions and the RedHawks taking on Ohio University in a 3:30 p.m. football showdown Saturday at Yager Stadium. With so many events, members of Miami’s Campus Activities Council’s (CAC) Family Weekend committee wanted to add a more personal touch by hosting welcome centers for families so they can easily find information to help them plan their weekend. "We felt the need to implement the welcome centers this year simply so that everyone felt informed. Miami is such an active campus and our committee wanted to take advantage of that and give families and students an easy way to get the inside scoop on all their options for the fun-filled weekend," said Katherine Klein, co-chair of the CAC Family Weekend committee. The welcome centers will be hosted 4-6 p.m. Friday at Shriver Center and the Phi Delt Gates on Miami’s northwest side of campus, near Uptown Oxford; 12:30 -2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Phi Kappa Tau Circle on the corner of High and Tallawanda streets; and 1:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday at Tailgate Town. Be entertained Entertainment for the weekend includes a Friday performance by Global Rhythms, “Blueprint of the World.” Read about the performance online. O. A. R.
