Four chemical engineering/paper science students receive leadership scholarships

The Miami University Paper Science & Engineering Foundation recently awarded four Bob and Barbara Williams Leadership Scholarships to undergraduates studying the paper science and engineering curriculum at Miami who demonstrate superior leadership, creativity and academic achievements. These prestigious awards are valued at $24,000 each.

The 2012-13 recipients:

Daniel Ferriell, a sophomore majoring in chemical engineering with a concentration in paper science;
Rachael Hall, a senior majoring in chemical engineering with dual concentrations in paper science and biochemical;
Nathan Hartman, a junior majoring in chemical engineering with a concentration in paper science and a minor in mechanical engineering; and
Kelley McGill, a junior majoring in chemical engineering with dual concentrations in paper science and biochemical.

The scholarships are provided through the generosity of The Bob and Barbara Williams Foundation. Bob Williams, now retired, has been a force in the global pulp and paper industry as co-founder of the James River Corporation. His impact continues to be felt through his encouragement of high leadership standards for graduating engineers.

Recipients were selected by a committee composed of chemical and paper engineering faculty, mechanical engineering faculty, and Paper Science & Engineering Foundation staff.
