Award-winning choir of Guangxi Arts College, China, on national tour, in concert Oct. 11

Guangxi Arts College Choir

The award-winning choir of Guangxi Arts College in Nanning, China will present a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, in Hall Auditorium.

The choir, directed by Hua Shan, is frequently invited to perform abroad. It has received awards including the Golden Award from the Chorus Competition of Chinese Mainland and Taiwan, 2010; two Golden Awards from the National Chorus Competition of Universities of China (2005 and 2009); and a Bronze Award from the Chorus Competition of Chinese Music Golden Bell Prize, 2009.

Guangxi Arts Institute (GAI) is a public institution in Nanning, the capital city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The choir is making a tour of the United States.

The concert is sponsored by the
Confucius Institute at Miami University and the School of Creative Arts.
