Celebrating 40 years of Title IX

Join Miami University's women's center and the department of intercollegiate athletics in celebrating the 40th anniversary of Title IX with a special lecture at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, in the Dave R. Taylor Auditorium, Farmer School of Business.

Title IX is the landmark federal legislation that prohibits sex discrimination in education programs and activities that receive federal financial assistance.

The milestone will be honored by Nancy Hogshead-Makar, three-time Olympic gold medalist in swimming and current professor of law at Florida Coastal School of law and senior director of Advocacy for the Women’s Sports Foundation. She will speak on "The Personal, Political and Practical of Title IX." The lecture is free and open to the public.
