Miami University named a Military Friendly School
The 1,739 institutions on this year’s list exhibit leading practices in the recruitment and retention of students with military experience.
Criteria for qualifying schools include offering military students scholarships and discounts, veterans’ clubs, military credit, certifications and other services.
This year, over 12,000 Veteran Affairs-approved schools were researched and surveyed to compile the list. G.I. Jobs raised its stringent measures to an even higher benchmark by including military student evaluations and feedback in the ranking decisions.
“Inclusion on the 2013 list of Military Friendly Schools shows Miami University’s commitment to providing a supportive environment for military students,” said Sean Collins, director for G.I. Jobs.
This is the fourth year that G.I. Jobs has released a list of Military Friendly Schools.
A full story and detailed list of 2013 Military Friendly Schools will be highlighted in the annual G.I. Jobs Guide to Military Friendly Schools. A list of 2013 Military Friendly Schools and student veteran survey feedback is also available online.
