Miami University Middletown presents a Peking Opera performance by the Taiwan National College of the Performing Arts at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, in the Campus and Community Center.
An authentic Chinese cuisine buffet is available at 6:15 p.m., and the performance begins at 7:15 p.m.
Both are free and open to the public. No tickets necessary.
Peking Opera is a Chinese national treasure, combining music, vocal performance, mime, dance and acrobatics.
“The stories and themes of Peking Opera transcend cultural and language barriers,” said Chen Ferguson, Miami University Regional director of international programs.
“Children as well as adults will be fascinated with the costumes, make-up, music and movement of these talented young performers.”
The event is sponsored by Miami University’s Center for Performing Arts and Miami University Regional’s international programs.
