Additional recognition for Miami's Presidential Award for service

In conjunction with Monday’s presentation of the Presidential Award to Miami University in the 2012 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) produced this video about the award.

Miami is one of only five recipients in the nation to receive the 2012 Presidential Award for community service and received the award during a ceremony Monday, March 12. The CNCS also posted an announcement highlighting Miami's achievements.

Miami's honor recognizes service programs in the area of early childhood education. The application was submitted by Miami’s Office of Community Engagement and Service.

The award is the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning and civic engagement. This is the fifth year Miami has made the honor roll, and the first year to receive a Presidential Award.
