Columbus curator presents "As Good As the Guys: Women and Photography"

Catherine Evans, curator of photography at the Columbus Museum of Art, will present "As Good As the Guys: Women and Photography" at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at the Miami University Art Museum. Her talk is in conjunction with the art museum's spring exhibition "Out of the Shadows: The Rise of Women in Art Part II."

Evans will give an overview of the history of women photographers with a concentration on mid-20th century American artists, whose visibility rose and ebbed in tandem with the country's socio-economic and political tides, from the Great Depression and the New Deal to World War II and the Cold War.
