Miami University students seeking an internship or full-time job will have an opportunity to interact with employers attending the Spring Internship & Career Expo (Spring ICE) 2-6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Millett Hall.
Spring ICE will bring together an expected 1,200 students and more than 120 hiring organizations seeking to fill a variety of positions. Attending students will be able to distribute resumes and speak with employer representatives from business and industry, as well as selected governmental and public service agencies.
Organizations participate in the event to help them identify talented prospects to invite for interviews. Employers confirmed to appear at this year’s event include AT&T, Nielsen, Talbert House and Centerpoint Health, Protiviti, Nestlé USA and MRI Software.
“Employers constantly tell us they like to see internships and other types of experiential learning highlighted on the resumes of our graduates,” said Cathy Moore, Miami’s associate director of career services. “We encourage students to view internships as highly beneficial, not only in terms of increasing their competitiveness in the job-search process, but also enriching the quality of their total educational experience.”
Moore recommends that students who have never been to a job fair attend the Spring ICE training session beforehand. The session will be held 6:15-7:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, in Shriver MPR-BC.
A second training session for arts and science majors will be held 6:15-7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, in Shriver MPR-C.
