Miami Holiday Project collecting gifts for area children

The classified personnel advisory committee (CPAC) and the unclassified personnel advisory committee (UPAC), are collecting gifts for the Miami Holiday Project to benefit nearly 150 foster children in Butler and Preble counties.

Donations of wrapping paper and new, unwrapped gifts including children’s and teen books, baby items, sport balls and board games will be accepted through Thursday, Dec.8.

The gift recipients are children ranging from newborn to 18 years and are under county court supervision due to abuse, neglect or abandonment. This is the 16th year for the Miami Holiday Project.

CPAC and UPAC encourage individuals, offices, departments, divisions and student organizations to raise donations or host fundraising activities for the project.

The committees are also seeking volunteers to shop on Saturday, Dec. 10, and to wrap gifts Dec. 12-14.

Donations should be mailed or brought to Miami Holiday Project, 106 Phillips Hall, 420 S. Oak St. Miami University, Oxford, OH 45056.
