Nearly 200 employers to attend Miami's Career Fair 2011

09/15/2011

Miami University students of all majors, and especially those graduating by August 2012, will have an opportunity to explore job and internship opportunities with regional and national employers at Career Fair 2011, one of the largest events of its type in the country.

The fair will be held 2-6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Millett Hall and will feature employers from business and industry, as well as selected governmental and public service agencies.

The annual event will bring together an expected 2,500 students and nearly 200 hiring organizations seeking to fill a variety of positions. Students in attendance will have an opportunity to distribute copies of their resume, speak directly with employer representatives and gain insight into a variety of career opportunities. Employers use the event to identify talented candidates to invite for interviews.

“We are very excited by the number and variety of employers who are attending the fair,” said Rich Utecht, associate director of Miami University’s career services. “It speaks to the quality of our students and to the importance of our employer partnerships.”

Employers confirmed to appear at Career Fair 2011 include Marathon Petroleum Corp., The Hershey Company, Abercrombie & Fitch, Cintas, Procter & Gamble, Chrysler, Abbott Laboratory, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, the U.S. Department of Treasury, and the Peace Corps.
