Spring ICE features more than 100 employers

02/02/2011

Miami University students seeking an internship or full-time job will have an opportunity to interact with employers attending the Spring Internship & Career Expo (Spring ICE) 2-6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Millett Hall.

Spring ICE will bring together an expected 1,200 students and more than 100 hiring organizations seeking to fill a variety of positions. Attending students can distribute resumes and speak with employer representatives from business and industry, as well as selected governmental and public service agencies. Organizations participate in the event to help them identify talented prospects to invite for interviews.

“Internships are a great experience for students from both a professional and educational standpoint,” said Nick Cattin, Miami University’s interim associate director of career services. “Employers consistently state that past internship experiences are a top criteria to look for when hiring students for full-time positions. In addition, students are able to further enrich their education by utilizing classroom theories and skills in a professional setting.”

Employers confirmed to appear at this year’s event include AT&T, Procter & Gamble, Abercrombie & Fitch, Butler County Care Facility, J.M. Smucker, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, and The Peace Corps.
