Miami University's department of housing, dining and guest services (HDGS) officially changed its name to the department of housing, dining, recreation and business services (HDRBS), effective immediately, to reflect the inclusion of recreational services, the Recreational Sports Center and Goggin Ice Center.
According to Pete Miller, associate vice president for auxiliaries, the newly organized department is a collection of auxiliary business service units, supporting the mission of the university, and working to enrich the student experience. The restructure will reduce administrative costs by combining similar functions and encouraging collaboration across units.
The new department includes the following operations:
- Student dining services and The Demske Culinary Support Center
- Campus event concessions
- Campus vending
housing & residential services
- Shriver Center & Carillon Catering
- Miami University Bookstores—Oxford, Hamilton, Middletown
