Interior design students win top awards

Two Miami University students, both juniors in the interior design program, won top awards in the Planning and Visual Education Partnership (PAVE) 2010 Student Design Competition.

Hannah Artmeier, an exchange student from the University of Applied Sciences Rosenheim, Munich, Germany, won first place and $5,000 in the Visual Merchandising category.

Kristen Seyferth, from Cleves, won third place and $1,500. Both are students in the design studio of Tracey Seibert, instructor of architecture and interior design.

Artmeier and Seyferth were among 440 total entries for the PAVE Student Design Competition, which is open to undergraduate students and geared to those interested in retail planning, visual merchandising and branding programs. This year’s competition was sponsored by Godiva Chocolatier Inc. Each student designed a 500 square foot Godiva “outpost” in order to attract a younger demographic.
