Sakai is a “Collaboration & Learning Environment” (CLE) that will be replacing the Blackboard Learning Management System that has been in use at Miami since the late 1990s. For more information about the Sakai implementation project, please visit www.muohio.edu/sip.
Niihka (pronounced 'neeka'), Miami University’s new name for the Collaboration & Learning Environment, will replace Blackboard next fall. Niihka won in a landslide after 1,134 people voted for one of four finalists. The winner of the contest is Kathleen Pickens-French, public services librarian at Rentschler Library on the Hamilton campus.
