Hagerman awarded Groupe Polyphenols Scientific Prize

Ann Hagerman, professor of chemistry and biochemistry at Miami University, received the Groupe Polyphenols Scientific Prize at the International Conference on Polyphenols held in Montpellier, France, Aug. 24-27. She is the first non-European to be awarded this recognition.

The Scientific Prize is in recognition of an investigator’s significant contributions to the study of polyphenolics. The selection committee recognized Hagerman’s contributions to the study of tannin-protein interactions and polyphenolics as antioxidants, and the importance of these reactions to the health-related benefits of polyphenols.

Hagerman was also named a member of the board committee of Groupe Polyphenols.
