On Monday, April 19, University Senate received and discussed the 2009-2010 annual report from the Fiscal Priorities and Budget Planning Committee. Senate also acknowledged Provost Jeffrey Herbst for his service and leadership as chair of University Senate.
Senate discussed proposed revisions to the Miami University Policy and Information Manual, Section 7.8 and Section 7.9, The Tenure and Promotion Process (new evidence) and a proposed new major, bachelor of science in kinesiology and health, integrative health sciences, department of kinesiology and health.
Senate received the consent calendar. With the approval of the full minutes of the April 12, 2010, meeting and the abbreviated minutes of the April 19, 2010, meeting, Senate adopted Senate resolutions SR 10-32 and SR 10-34.

BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that University Senate adopt the Promotion and Tenure Guidelines for Dossier Preparation, 2010-2011 (http://community.muohio.edu/senate/files/senate/1_SR_10-32_P&T_Guidelines.pdf ).

SR 10-34
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that University Senate approve the preliminary prospectus for a bachelor of science in information technology, major in health information technology, computer and information technology department, School of Engineering and Applied Science.
The resolution carried by voice vote.
The next meeting of University Senate will be at 3:15 p.m. Aug. 30, 111 Harrison Hall, Oxford Campus.
Twenty-five members of Faculty Assembly can challenge the resolutions by filing a petition with the Secretary of the University during the ten class days after publication in the e-Report.
