Routine maintenance to the Miami Exchange e-mail servers for students, faculty and staff is scheduled this week with each outage scheduled to last approximately 15 minutes.
The first occurred 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, for students and at 10 p.m. for faculty and staff. Another outage for will occur at 1 p.m. and at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, for students and at 10 p.m. for faculty and staff.
In addition, more extensive maintenance is planned for Thursday, March 11, between 5:30 p.m. and midnight for students and midnight to 6 a.m. Saturday, March 13, for faculty and staff.
These events will involve rolling outages where an individual’s e-mail will be down for approximately 30 minutes sometime within the outage window.
During all of the outages users will not be able to log on to e-mail, however messages will be held and then delivered once the outage has ended. Some users may need to log on again if they are actively connected to a server when it is taken offline. Once the outage is complete, some voicemail indicator lights on VoIP phones may not be accurate, but will reset shortly.
