TV station to re-air Yamauchi series

Edwin Yamauchi, professor emeritus of history at Miami University, will be part of “Africa and The Bible” on Day of Discovery TV.

The three-part series will air at 7:30 a.m. Sundays, Feb. 7, Feb. 14 and Feb. 21, on WRCX 51 in Dayton. It originally aired in October 2006.

The series explores the myths of a “cursed race” in Africa. It uses interviews and historical facts to explore a region that was once a center of Christian thought and theology.

The three parts are titled “The Myth of a Cursed Race,” “White Man’s Religion?” and “The River of Faith.”

Yamauchi is author of numerous works, including 17 books. His book, Africa and the Bible, was recognized by Christianity Today in 2005. He retired in May 2005 after 35 years at Miami.
