Christin Schillinger, assistant professor of bassoon at Miami University, will present a recital at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, in Souers Recital Hall, Center for Performing Arts. Also performing on the program are Heather MacPhail, piano, and Andrea Ridilla, oboe.
The program, “2010: A Bassoonist’s Odyssey into the Twenty First Century,” features works for bassoon, oboe, and piano composed since the turn of the last century.
Schillinger, who joined the Miami music faculty in 2009, is active as an orchestral musician and soloist through the United States and Europe. She has held positions with the Reno Chamber Orchestra and the Reno Philharmonic, and is currently with the Classical Music Festival in Eisenstadt, Austria.
Ridilla, professor of oboe, serves as principal oboist of the Middletown Symphony under Maestro Carmon DeLeone and has performed solo recitals in addition to serving as concert soloist and chamber music musician both nationally and internationally.
MacPhail, accompanist in the department of music, is an established keyboard artist in the Cincinnati area.
