Gandara poem noted in international competition

Paula Gandara, associate professor of Lusophone studies in Miami University’s department of Spanish and Portuguese, has earned an honorable mention for her poem in the 25th International Prize of Poetry Nosside 2009.

Gandara’s poem “Cape Verde, earthly waters” (in Portuguese, “Cabo Verde águas de terra”) will be among winning poems published in a multilingual and multimedia anthology characterized by five official languages (Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, English and French) as well as by other languages used by the winners, edited by Centro Studi Bosio and published by the Città del Sole Edition of Reggio Calabria.

An international jury considered poems from contestants in 30 languages from 42 countries on all continents.
