Lifelong learning receives two awards for summer institute

Miami University’s office of lifelong learning is the recipient of two awards for its 2009 Summer Honors Institute, “B the Change (U Wish 2 C).” It received the “Creative and Innovative Award” from the North American Association of Summer Sessions and the “Creative Program, Non-Credit Regional Award” from the University Continuing Education Association, Mid-America Region.

The 2009 Summer Honors Institute, for gifted high school students, was an interdisciplinary service-based learning project offered through the office of lifelong learning. It was funded through a grant from the Ohio Department of Education and developed by the office of lifelong learning in collaboration with Miami’s Center for Community Engagement in Over-the-Rhine.
