The IT services support desk now offers a chat service, allowing faculty, students and staff to chat live with a support desk staff member. To use the new chat, browse to https://ithelp.muohio.edu and choose the Click to Chat link in the list of contact methods on the left side of the page.
The support desk is also reducing its nighttime hours effective Dec. 20, in a continuing effort to adjust to recent budget cuts while maintaining services needed by the university community. On weeknights the support desk will close at 10 pm. A partnership with Wright State University, implemented this summer, ensures that problems occurring when the support desk is not staffed can be reported and addressed.
Callers to the support desk during unstaffed times should press “5” to report a major problems or outages. This option automatically routes the call to the Operations Center at WSU for response.
For self-service support, the IT Help Answers Online knowledge base (https://ithelp.muohio.edu) provides information on many basic computing and technology questions.
Questions about the chat service or the new support desk hours can be directed to the support desk via chat, e-mail, or phone.
New Chat hours are:
