Conference celebrates beginnings of statistics at Miami

Miami University's department of statistics hosts "Bicentennial Beginnings of Statistics at Miami, A Celebration of the Past and Look to the Future." This all-day event will be held Friday, Nov. 13, in the Heritage Room, Shriver Center.

The morning session will focus on the historical retrospective of statistics and will be split into two parts. The first part will concentrate on the early years of statistics at Miami from 1968–1989. The second half of the morning session will highlight the growth and expansion of statistics at Miami, analyzing the progress of the department from 1990 through today.

The afternoon session welcomes Miami statistics alumni who will join in a panel discussion.
