Composer's Recital: Chamber works by Brian Joyce

Miami University’s department of music will present a recital of recent works by Brian Joyce at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, in Souers Recital Hall in the Center for Performing Arts.

Joyce, who retired from Miami in 2006 after 22 years working as a technician in the music library, will be joined by students and members of the Miami music faculty in a program of chamber works for winds, strings, piano and harpsichord.

The program will include a Sonata da Chiesa for woodwinds and harpsichord; three American hymn preludes; "Bombur's Dream," a sonatina for oboe and piano; and “Therefore Be Merry,” a suite of Christmas carols arranged for string quartet.
