In memoriam: Nevina J. Colwell and John W. Cossman

Miami University mourns the loss of two retired employees who recently died. Nevina Colwell, 63, of Camden died Aug. 30 and John Cossman, 71, of Oxford died Sept. 14.

Nevina Colwell retired from Miami University in 2003 after 12 years as a food service worker. Survivors include daughters, Beverly Thomas and Jodie Bowlin; brothers, Barney and Jimmy Johnson; sister, Patricia Bingham. Services were held at Nein-Barnes Funeral Home, Camden. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

John Cossman was a master painter and plasterer for Miami University for 32 years until his retirement in 2005. He is survived by his wife, Linda C. Abrams; three children, Debra of Camden, James of Hamilton and John, Jr. of West Harrison; stepchildren, Tammy and Neil Smith, Valerie Abrams, Kimberly Abrams; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
