As part of Miami University's Bicentennial Homecoming celebration, the university’s Alumni Association honored 30 of its faculty and staff at the Effective Educator Reception Oct. 21 for making a profound and lasting difference in students’ lives.
“It’s very rewarding to read the nomination letters each year and to learn about the powerful ways in which our faculty and staff impact students in and beyond the classroom,” said Brian Breittholz, an associate director in Miami’s alumni relations office.
The Effective Educator Award was established in 1983 to honor individuals at Miami who educate and inspire students to new heights. All of the 2009-2010 nominees, who each received a golden apple lapel pin and certificate, were selected by the Class of 2005. They are:
