Miami senior receives Fulbright Award04/24/2009 |

She originally became interested in Taiwan while studying abroad in Chengdu, China. Farrar has also studied in Lille, France, and performed with the Miami orchestra in Luxembourg. Farrar's senior capstone is in music performance, on viola. At Miami, she is also involved in swing dance club, Miami University Symphony, Miami Chamber Orchestra and Global Rhythms. Her advice to students: "Get out of your bubble, get out of your comfort zone and find new passions." Fulbright awards are funded by the U.S. Department of State. Recipients are selected on the basis of academic or professional achievement as well as demonstrated leadership potential. The Fulbright Program has provided nearly 300,000 people with the opportunity to study, teach or conduct research to meet the goal of a global exchange of ideas.
