Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland has appointed Lindsey Bullinger as a student trustee on the Miami University board of trustees. Bullinger is a sophomore majoring in public administration, with a minor in management and organizations.
Bullinger is conducting research with faculty adviser Stacey Lowery Bretz, professor of chemistry and biochemistry. Her project, “Investigating first year chemistry major students’ ideas about chemicals,” explores the preconceived knowledge of students and how they use that knowledge in the classroom to better understand complex chemistry processes.
Bullinger is also a member of the Miami University dance team. She is a graduate of Fort Jennings High School.
She replaces Kerry McCormack, whose term expired in February.
Student trustees at Miami serve two-year terms and are non-voting board members.
