After a formal review, the designation of Administrator Emeritus/Emerita will be reinstated to The Miami University Policy and Information Manual (MUPIM).
Members of the Unclassified Personnel Advisory Committee (UPAC) studied policies of other universities and recommended the change to Miami’s policy. The President’s Executive Committee and University Senate concurred with UPAC’s recommendations.
To be eligible for the designation of Administrator Emeritus/Emerita at Miami University, an individual must:
1. Retire from Miami University with at least ten years of continuous full-time service in an administrative position; and
2. Be recommended by the President and approved by the Board of Trustees. Recommendation for designation as Administrator Emeritus/Emerita will occur automatically unless there is a specific recommendation to the contrary of the administrator requests not to be afforded the designation.
