Ian Yeboah

Ian Yeboah has been promoted to professor of geography. He earned a doctorate from the University of Calgary, Canada, in 1994. Yeboah’s teaching and research focus on three areas: globalization and African urbanization, globalization and African migration, and globalization and African poverty.

Yeboah has published in journals such as Area, African Geographical Review, Canadian Geographer, GeoJournal, Geographical Research, Tijdschrift voor Economische en Sociale Geografie, The Geographical Journal, Africa Today, and Social Science and Medicine as well as numerous book chapters.

His recent book titled Black African Neo-Diaspora: Ghanaian Immigrant Experiences in the Greater Cincinnati, Ohio, Area (2008) is published by Lexington Books. He is past editor of African Geographical Review. Yeboah taught at both the University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana, and the University of Calgary before coming to Miami in 1994.
