Moira Casey

Moira Casey has been granted tenure and promoted to associate professor of English. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English education from the College of New Jersey and her master’s and doctorate in English from the University of Connecticut. Her appointment is at Miami Middletown, where she teaches composition, British literature and women’s studies.

Casey serves as the primary adviser for all English and related majors at the Middletown campus, directs the portfolio program and is serving a two-year appointment to the leadership collaborative of Miami Middletown’s Center for Teaching and Learning.

Casey is a member of the National Council for Teachers of English as well as the American Conference for Irish Studies, for which she is currently serving as a judge on the dissertation award committee. She has publications in the areas of Irish fiction as well as composition pedagogy; her most recent publication was co-authored with professor emeritus Jeffrey Sommers and will appear in Lore: An E-Journal for Teachers of Writing, published by Bedford/St. Martin’s.
