Jill Courte

Jill Courte has been granted tenure and promoted to associate professor of computer and information technology (CIT).

After working in the computing industry for many years, Courte turned to teaching in 2003 and began her career at Miami in the CIT department. She teaches a variety of subjects including programming and computing fundamentals. Her scholarship focuses on finding optimum ways to learn computer programming, effectiveness of online learning for computing topics and team learning. Courte has published in refereed journals and conference proceedings and given numerous professional presentations regarding these areas.

She holds degrees in psychology and computer science and brings these disparate areas together through her research to help students effectively learn computing topics.
