Tracy Featherstone has been granted tenure and promoted to associate professor of art. Featherstone, who has a working studio in Hamilton, earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati and a master’s from the University of Arizona.
A research grant allowed Featherstone to travel to Ghana, West Africa, to initiate a body of sculptural work dealing with the theme of personal environment. She is currently developing two collaborative research projects that use the sculptural work as a departure point for interaction with others.
Featherstone’s recent scholarly and creative projects include solo exhibitions in Chicago and Courtland, Va.; “Domestimutation” in Ephraim, Utah; “Sculpting America” at the Southern Mississippi Museum of Art, “State Fair” at the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus; and “Multiply,” an animation screening at the Contemporary Art Center in Cincinnati. She was a participant in the Fringe Festival and International Conference on the Arts in Society in Edinburgh, Scotland, and received a grant from the Ohio Arts Council.
