Miami student work selected for international exhibition

Casey Vogt, a Miami University graduate student, is an award winner in the 2008 MFANow International Painting competition. This year's competition received 314 entries from 145 schools, representing 16 countries.

Works by the winners will be exhibited in three cities: New York, Los Angeles and a European city to be named. Winners also receive $1,000.
Nineteen students were named award winners; Vogt is one of five selected in exhibition three, “This is Paint!”

Based in New York, MFANow is a new international arts organization sponsoring arts related events for graduate students enrolled in fine arts programs in North America Europe, and Asia. For more information, visit: www.mfanow.org.

Vogt was a finalist in both the 2003 and the 2007 Miami University Young Painters Competition for the William and Dorothy Yeck Award. He also has received an Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award. His MFA thesis exhibition, “Meaning and Nothingness,” is April 14-19 at Hiestand Galleries, School of Fine Arts.
