Architecture students receive AIA scholarships
Two Miami first-year architecture students, Ryan Benson and Anna Chifala, are recipients of 2007 scholarships from the Dayton Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Eligible students are from AIA Dayton’s nine-county area.
Benson is a graduate of Piqua High School; Chifala is a graduate of Oakwood High School. Each received a $1,000 award. Chifala also was a book award recipient in the 2007 Art in Architecture Student Design Competition awards, also sponsored by AIA Dayton.
The scholarship fund was established to encourage and assist students in the Dayton/Miami Valley region to pursue a degree in architecture. It is a joint program between the local chapter and AIA National.
AIA Dayton was founded in 1900 and has 200 members representing the interests of all registered architects in Miami Valley and surrounding counties.
