Take Five with ‘Santa’ |
|
|
Jackie Lemon may not have access to a sleigh and eight tiny reindeer, but she’ll play Santa 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. The event is a fundraiser for Cat Connection. Lemon, usually a senior program assistant in physical facilities, will sit for pet portraits at the Westchester PetSmart. Have you always wanted to play Santa? I never really thought about it until I was approached by Cat Connection of Cincinnati (CCC) to see if I’d be interested in volunteering for the pet photos with Santa. Three volunteers were needed; Santa, a photographer and an elf – I immediately chose Santa and the more I started thinking about the idea, the better I liked it – what fun! How did you first get involved with Cat Connection? I wanted to donate my extra time to a worthy charity and feel very lucky to be able to lend my time and services to help this non-profit, rescue (no-kill) organization. It’s all for a great cause and just knowing that the time I donate helps homeless animals makes me feel like I’m contributing to making the world a better place for our furry friends. Do you have other interests as a volunteer? Yes. When time permits, I lend my services and expertise to paranormal investigations. Which is more difficult to deal with: elves or cats? I’ve never worked with elves before but I once knew this elf a long time ago and he was happiest when causing trouble; so, I’d have to go with elves. And what do you want for Christmas, Santa? A home for all the homeless animals. |
