More than 1,100 degree candidates are expected for Miami University’s Fall Commencement on Dec. 15.

The ceremony is at 3 p.m. at Millett Hall. Lisa Ellram, University Distinguished Professor and James Evans Rees Distinguished Professor of Supply Chain Management, serves as the commencement speaker.

Ellram was the co-recipient of this year’s Benjamin Harrison Medallion. The medallion is awarded annually for extraordinary and sustained contributions related to teaching, research, and service. Ellram was among the first researchers to apply theory to the concept of supply chain management and bring it into academic literature.

The breakdown of the 1,118 degrees expected to be conferred:

• 755 bachelor degrees
• 273 master’s degrees
• 53 associate degrees
• 23 certificates
• 14 doctorates

Top bachelor degrees come from Computer Science (41), Small Business Management (41), Psychology (39), and Accountancy (34). There are 35 states represented, plus Washington, D.C., among the degree candidates, with the most hailing from Ohio (670). For those earning bachelor degrees, 11% are graduating with Cum Laude honors, 9% Magna Cum Laude, and 6 % Summa Cum Laude.
