Miami is a residential campus, with almost all our students living on campus or in Oxford. Our residence halls are located near classroom buildings, dining halls, and the Recreational Sports Center and feature programming designed to help you get to know people easily. All first-year and second-year students live in residence halls unless they are 21 or living with their parents(s), guardian, or spouse. Studies show that students living in residence halls perform better academically and participate more fully in campus life.

All Miami University residence halls are human-scale (no high-rise towers here) to make it easy to feel at home. All rooms have cable service and a plug-in for each student for access to the Internet, email, and Miami computer systems.

Each residence hall for first-year students has a theme so you can choose to live with others who share some interests with you. Some offer for-credit courses that meet in the hall; all offer theme-related social and educational activities and programs. These living learning communities include arts, foreign languages, health and wellness, honors and scholars, and leadership themes.

An academic adviser lives in each first-year residence hall to provide personal support and assistance in scheduling classes and exploring majors and careers. Specially trained upperclass students serving as resident assistants live in each corridor to provide guidance and help plan activities designed to help you make friends quickly.

Dining options are more numerous than you can imagine, with fresh, healthy foods prepared daily in our kitchens and bakery. From a la carte locations to all-you-care-to-eat buffets, you'll find a convenient dining location no more than a three-minute walk from any residence hall. Year after year, more than 95 percent give high ratings to both food and service.

To learn more about Miami's residence halls and dining options, visit the Office of Student Housing and Meal Plan Services.

Graduate students can live on campus or off. Regardless of the choice, it's easy to connect with other graduate students who share similar intellectual, cultural, and recreational interests. To learn more about housing options for graduate students, visit the Graduate School.
