Robert McChesney lecture, symposium on "Media and Democracy"

Robert McChesney, host of "Media Matters" weekly radio program and co-founder of Free Press, a national media reform organization, will present "Media and Democracy and the Coming Upheaval" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, in the Shriver Center Heritage Room. His talk is part of Miami University's annual Robert E. Strippel Memorial Continuing Dialogue on Justice and Human Rights.

Miami offers retirement incentive program

Miami University is offering eligible staff members a retirement incentive program. Applications for the incentive program will be accepted from Feb. 10 through March 16 of 2012.


"A moment with ... Mike Pearson"

Take "A moment with ... Detroit native Mike Pearson." The assistant athletic director for communications and technology at Miami, his wife says he was born 30 years too late because his favorite athletes are Babe Ruth and Red Grange.


Lilith Theatre Company presents "Strangers/Extranjeras"

The Looking for Lilith Theatre Company presents the two-woman play "Strangers/Extranjeras" at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Leonard Theater in Peabody Hall. The play, written by Jennifer Thalman Kepler and Charity Thompson based on their experiences living as volunteers in Guatemala for a year, is free and open to the public.
