Academic Attire
Academic attire is required at BOTH the university and divisional ceremonies.
Associate degree candidates wear the same robe as bachelor's candidates. Master's candidates must wear a robe and hood. Doctoral candidates only need to purchase cap, gown, and tassel, as the hood will be awarded as part of the ceremony. Doctoral candidates who want to rent faculty-quality attire or purchase professional-level custom attire should contact Mary Neisius at the Bookstore (513-529-2600).
Latin Honors Cords
Red and white cords are now available to students who meet Latin Honors criteria. Latin Honors require a cumulative g.p.a. of 3.50 or better (based on final grades of the last semester of attendance prior to commencement). Degree candidates who have been notified that they are eligible for "Graduation with Distinction" may pick up their cords at Grad Fest 2008 or at the following locations* through Friday, May 9, 2007:
- Commencement Office (Office of the Registrar), 106 CAB
Hours: MondayFriday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Oxford students
- Hamilton and Middletown campus bookstores
Hours: MondayThursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

* Cords can also be picked up at Yager Stadium just prior to the ceremony.
Study Abroad and International Student sashes, which are optional, can be purchased at Grad Fest 2008 or ordered at the Bookstore. Orders must be placed by April 24.
The Miami University Bookstore carries the full array of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral garments. All attire will be available for purchase
at the Miami University Bookstore March 25 May 11.
On Saturday, May 10, personnel will be available at the Bookstore kiosk, located at the Yager Stadium west entrance, to provide garment assistance prior to the ceremony.
