Other Visits

The Office of Admission offers additional opportunities for prospective student visits.

Group Visits

Miami offers visit opportunities for a variety of student groups, including high school students, middle school students, college access organizations, and community-based organizations. Visits typically include a campus tour and an information session. Visits are limited to 100 per group, and one chaperon must accompany every 10 students. We offer group visits on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. throughout the academic year (September through April). Accommodation of group visits at other times is subject to staff availability. Please call 513-529-1545 at least three weeks in advance to schedule your group visit.

Faculty Appointments

Take some extra time to explore our major and minors as well as pre-professional programs. To see our facilities and talk to faculty in a specific department, please email our faculty appointment coordinator facultyappt@muohio.edu at least two weeks in advance so that we can make the appropriate arrangements. You can meet with faculty and incorporate this activity into your visit before or after the information session and tour. Up to two faculty appointments can be scheduled in one day. These appointments cannot be made during weekends, student breaks, university holidays, examination week, or the summer.

Honors Program Visits

The Honors and Scholars Program at Miami offers three superb programs for high-ability students: the Harrison Scholars Program, the University Honors Program, and the Oxford Scholars Program. If you would like to meet with an Honors staff member to learn more about these programs, please schedule a visit online or by phone at 513-529-3399.

Departmental Visits

Engineering and Applied Science High School Exploration Day is a unique opportunity for prospective students and their parents to explore the programs in the School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS). Information sessions and tours are available on Mondays and Fridays. Visit the School of Engineering and Applied Science for more information on SEAS exploration.

The Farmer School of Business offers prospective students and their parents an opportunity to meet with a school representative to learn more about available programs. Informational meetings can be arranged in advance by contacting the Office of Admission faculty appointment coordinator at facultyapp@muohio.edu.

Class Visits

Miami University invites prospective students to visit our classes while on campus. Due to space limitations, these visits are open to prospective students only; family members are welcome to explore the campus while class is in session. We ask student visitors to arrive a few minutes before class begins and remain until the class ends to avoid disruptions.

To view a list of classes open for visits during the current semester, see Class Visits Spring 2008 (PDF 56KB). To arrange a visit, send an email message to the contact address provided at least 10 business days prior to your visit date. Include your name, high school graduation year, and visit date in your message.
