Miami University's Multicultural Leadership Program Summer Leadership Institute (MLPSLI) is an intensive residential, pre-college program during which academic, leadership, and career-choice activities are explored through collaborative work with our corporate and other educational development partners. Throughout the four days, MLPSLI participants interact with current Miami University students, faculty, and staff as well as professional corporate representatives. This event will take place June 28July 2, 2009.
MLPSLI Scholarship
Students who successfully complete the program and are accepted for admission to Miami receive a $5,000 renewable merit scholarship awarded only to MLPSLI students.
Program Activities
Academic
During the four days, students will participate in short seminar coursework in college writing and leadership. In addition, one elective course is completed in Business, Education (teacher education, family studies, exercise science), Engineering, Fine Arts, Pre-Law, or Pre-Medicine.
Extracurricular
Non-classroom activities include, but are not limited to, team-building exercises, a business etiquette dinner, and both campus and non-campus leisure activities.
