Fall 2010, Early Decision

This option is intended for students who are willing to commit themselves to Miami University as their first college choice. Students may apply to only one college as an Early Decision candidate. Applicants contractually agree to withdraw all applications to other colleges and attend Miami if accepted.

Unlike Early Decision, this option is non-binding. Early Action candidates may apply to as many colleges as they wish.

Fall 2010, Regular Decision

As with Early Action, the Regular Decision option is non-binding. Candidates may apply to as many colleges as they wish.

* Accepted Early Decision applicants are considered for all financial aid opportunities (if FAFSA is submitted by February 15, 2010) as well as all available scholarships. The confirmation deadline of January 15 preceeds financial aid/scholarship award notification (usually late March). Thus, after November 1, 2009, Early Decision applicants can request an early need-based estimate using the Aid Estimator.
** This option is similar to Regular Decision but with an earlier deadline (December 1) and notification date (February 1).
As a member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling, Miami University supports the Statement of Principles of Good Practice and "permits candidates to choose, without penalty, among offers of admission and financial aid until May 1. Candidates admitted under early decision are a recognized exception to this provision." (Section II, A, 6)
